The Seven-Letter Wacky Time Show
The Seven-Letter Wacky-Time Show was a short-lived WHRW production that endearingly referred to itself as a "rip off of The Mad Trivia Party." The show featured music, improv and scripted comedy, and a game-show element. On each show, a seven-letter word would be selected by host Matt Rock and his panel, which included me, and throughout the show one-word hints would be given, similar to the old game show "Password." Callers would try to guess the word and they'd win a prize if they did.
It was the chaos and minimal structure that made 7LW so fun to be on. Other than the seven-letter word, the shows were pretty much stream of consciousness, featuring whatever was on people's minds, a new album that was favored by Rock or the panel, random callers, even spur-of-the-moment schemes. In one infamous episode we found an ad on the internet posted by a single woman who laid out specifically what she wanted from a man and then invited anyone in the world who fit the description to call her at home and leave a message on her answering machine. We of course left message after message, live on the air.
Among the other regulars on 7LW were my good friend Chris Biscuiti, now a noted author; Rob Kuczynski, "Abby Normal," and "Chuck, the Pregnant Nun." Never did find out Chuck's last name, now that I think about it.
Might feature some episodes or clips here in the future. 7LW was always a lot of fun.
