The Mad Trivia Party: Albums

When I was doing Mad Trivia, I put together eight recorded "albums," mostly best-of albums, to preserve some of the best moments of the show.  We gave away the earlier ones as prizes and callers fought ferociously to win them.  I'm working to remaster these and offer "definitive editions" here for download, with some extra tracks and cleaned up audio.

Obey Midget (2003)

This best-of for the Fall 2002 season, where we were the "renegade Mad Trivia," features a mysterious man known only as "Julie" on the panel, who provided most of the "WTF?" moments this season.

For Rectal Use Only (2002)

Released after I left Mad Trivia in 2002, this was to be the end-all, be-all of Mad Trivia albums. Included with the "fourth" official best-of album was a CD-ROM including the past albums, and two that were never officially released: "The Years of Froth and Repulsion" and "Oops, I Didn't Mean It."

Oops, I Didn't Mean It (2002)

Technically the "third" best-of CD in the chronology, it was shelved after I had to fire the guys who were my panel on this album. It finally surfaced as an "unreleased" bonus item on the "For Rectal Use Only" CD-ROM.

The Years of Froth and Repulsion (2002)

Not officially released until its appearance as a "bonus" item on the "For Rectal Use Only" CD-ROM in 2002, we had started collecting funny clips from the years Jordana ("The High Mistress of Mosh") Dlugacz hosted the show. We never put together an official album at the time, but the material was a great showcase of this out-of-control time in the program's history.

Phox in the Box (2000)

A tribute to one of my (and listeners') favorite panelists, Chris "Phox" Wenham, whose dry, British wit and willingness to read lists of stupid things on the show made him our go-to guy for the funny.

"I'm Charles Foster Kane" (1998)

The first-ever Mad Trivia best-of CD was rushed out the door as a going-away present to Greg "Buzzbomb" Mollo, who moved suddenly during the Spring 1998 season. I wanted to present it as a gift to him because he was instrumental in getting Mad Trivia back in good graces with station management after a few years where we weren't so highly regarded.

Thank You Me (1998)

The first best-of collection with me as host. Showcases the early directions we took the show when I took over.

Toxic White Powder (1998)

We released a cassette of the full April Fools' 1998 show, where we attempted to pretend Mad Trivia was happening on a commercial radio station, and the disastrous consequences. Glenn Beck's Moron Trivia circa 2004 did it better, but this was a memorable show for our listeners at the time.
